The Vegas Golden Knights will be without a very valuable member of their team tonight as they look to extend their series versus the Edmonton Oilers.
As per a report from SinBin.vegas, the Golden Knights won’t have Mark Stone in the lineup for Game 5. The 33-year-old was forced to leave Game 3 early due to an undisclosed injury, but was back in the lineup a few nights later. It appears the effects of that injury, caused in a collision with Corey Perry, are still lingering.
Multiple sources have confirmed to us that VGK are proceeding forward with the expectation that Mark Stone will NOT play tonight.
Both McNabb and Pietrangelo are expected to go.
Brandon Saad is not expected back in this series.

This is a huge loss for the Golden Knights, as Stone finished second amongst his teammates in regular-season scoring with 19 goals and 67 points despite only playing in 66 games. He’s been just as good in the playoffs, having scored four goals and eight points through 10 outings.
There is some good news for the Golden Knights, however, as Alex Pietrangelo is expected to be good to go. The veteran blueliner appeared shaken up in Game 4 after blocking a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins shot early in the third period, but remained in the game.
It also appears that Brayden McNabb will be good to go, while Brandon Saad, who has missed the past two games with a lower-body injury, will remain out of the lineup tonight and isn’t expected to return this series.
As for the Oilers, they will be going with the exact same lineup that picked up a 3-0 win in Game 4 at Rogers Place. That means that Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will continue to operate on separate lines, while Stuart Skinner will get his third consecutive start between the pipes.
Though the Golden Knights possess plenty of talent throughout their lineup, it will be interesting to see how they overcome the loss of their heart-and-soul player in a game they must win to extend their season.
