The University of Alberta wasn’t the only Canadian university to rank highly on the global stage.
The University of Toronto took the top spot in Canada, ranking 21st in the world.
Other Canadian universities that made the global top 100 include McGill University, which placed 41st, and the University of British Columbia, which placed 45th.
McMaster University, ranked 116th globally, was the fourth-highest-ranked university in the country.
In total, 34 Canadian universities are featured in the 2026 Canada University Ranking, “showcasing the country’s strength in higher education,” THE said.
