
There will be quite a few stars on the golf course in Edmonton this week.
The CPKC Women’s Open is set to get underway at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton this Wednesday, with a stacked field set to compete.
World No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda will headline the tournament, while Canadian Brooke Henderson will look to defend her title after winning the tournament in Mississauga, Ont. last year.
This will be the first time the tournament has been held in the Alberta capital since 2013.

Korda will be the biggest name to compete in Edmonton for the tournament. The 28-year-old American golfer sits atop the LPGA rankingsĀ and is coming off two major championships, claiming victory at the 2026 U.S. Open in June and the 2026 Chevron Championship in April.
She is also among the most popular women’s golfers, having amassed 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
Henderson sits 11th in the LPGA rankings and is the only Canadian to win the tournament, having done so in 2025 and 2018. The 28-year-old Smiths Falls, Ont. native has 14 LPGA Tour wins to her name and two major championship victories, winning the Women’s PGA Championship back in 2016 and the Evian Championship in 2022.

Other top-ranked golfers set to compete in Edmonton this week include World No. 4 Hyo Joo Kim, Miyu Yamashita (7), Ruoning Yin (8), Hannah Green (9), and reigning 2024 Olympic gold medalist Lydia Ko (11).
The CPKC Women’s Open, also known as the Canadian Women’s Open, has been around since 1978 and involves a four-round, 72-hole tournament. It is the only stop in Canada on the LPGA Tour. The prize purse for this year’s event is set to be US$2.75 million, with the winner taking home US$412,500.
Edmonton has hosted the Canadian Women’s Open on three prior occasions in 2013, 2007, and 1996.
