This neighbourhood in Edmonton is hosting a festival that will satisfy your sweet tooth
There’s a festival returning to Edmonton for another year of tasty treats and sweet sips.
The Sweet Treats and Latte Festival is run by the Old Strathcona Business Association, a historic and lively neighbourhood in Edmonton, which also happens to hold some of the best culinary spots in the city.
Not only is this festival offering delicious and unique treats for every taste, but it is also the perfect opportunity to give back to the community during the slower, colder months. Last year, they gave away over $1,500 in prizes!

There are a couple ways you can win prizes during this fest, so here’s all of them.
First things first, you can pick up your Sweet Treats and Latte Festival fillable card at any participating location. Every time you purchase any of the feature menu items, you get to fill out a circle on your card.
Once you’ve filled out five circles, you can enter in a draw for a chance to win one of four $100 gift cards to participating businesses. TO ENTER – DM us a photo of your filled-in coffee card on the organizations Instagram, or drop a photo by email to marketing@oldstrathcona.ca.
If you manage to fill out 10 or more circles, you can enter to win one of two stay-cation prize packs, valued at $400, complete with gift cards to the Metterra Hotel, surrounding restaurants, shops and cafés.
Another way you can win prizes is by sharing photos of feature drinks and treats with the tag #SweetTreatsYeg and by tagging @OldStrathcona. This way, you’re automatically entered to win one of four prizes of $75 at participating cafés and bakeries.
The festival runs from Feb. 12 to 22, giving you ample time to fill out your punch cards.
Some of the featured restaurants and businesses are the up-and-coming DRTY Ice Cream, King of Tarts, Marlo Tacos, and Clair-i-tea. The full list of participants can be found on the Sweet Treats and Latte Festival page on Old Strathcona’s website.
