Edmonton police investigate suspicious death in motel room

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating after a dead body was found in a south side motel Sunday evening.

Around 8 pm, officers responded to a call about an assault happening at the motel near 38 Avenue and Calgary trail.

When police arrived, they found a dead person inside one of the suites.

Homicide investigators have taken over the case, and police say no more information is available at this time, including the gender of the deceased person.
