Alberta dairy farmers have long been committed to providing their local communities with high-quality, delicious products. Now, they are calling on their community to help them as they tackle a very real problem across the province — food insecurity.
Food insecurity is a pressing issue across the country that demands urgent attention. Between 2019 and 2022, there was a massive 73% increase in food bank use across Alberta. What’s more, approximately 45% of Alberta food bank users are families with children.
In response, Alberta Milk is partnering with Food Banks Alberta, which supports the 113 member food banks across the province that provide essential assistance for those facing food insecurity. And the good news is that itās never been easier for you to help make a difference.
Alberta Milk will match any donations made to Food Banks Alberta (to a maximum of $50,000) until August 1, doubling your generosity and making it go even further.
Alberta Milk has a history of donations and community support. Since 2004, the non-profit organization has donated more than 60,000 litres of milk and $227,000 in cash to food banks in Alberta.
