Woman dead after stabbing near City Centre mall

Homicide detectives with the Edmonton Police Service are investigating after a woman died of her injuries from a stabbing downtown.

Around 11:45 pm Wednesday, officers say they responded to calls about a stabbing at 102 Avenue and 101 Street, near the City Centre shopping centre.

They reportedly found a woman in her 30s suffering from stab wounds.

She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries, according to an EPS news release.

Police have a suspect in custody, and they’re calling the death suspicious.
