Police investigating New Year's Day shooting in north Edmonton

Edmonton Police Service is investigating following a shooting that took place on New Year’s Day.

According to police, around 6:15 pm on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, EPS Northwest Division patrol members responded to a weapons complaint near the area of 118 Avenue and 76 Street.

Upon arrival, police say they located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound.

Paramedics treated and transported the male to hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening wounds.

According to law enforcement, the actual location of the shooting is undetermined at this time, and the complainant was uncooperative with police.

The male is said to be known to police, and the investigation is still ongoing.
