A 27-year-old man was injured in a shooting in west Edmonton Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened just before 5 pm at an apartment building near 177 Street and 65 Avenue, according to an Edmonton Police Service emailed statement.

Another man apparently shot the victim before fleeing on foot, police say.

EPS added there is no concern for public safety, which suggests the shooting was targeted.

The victim was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

Officers are still looking for the suspect, and ask anyone with information about what happened to contact them at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
