The COVID-19 pandemic and associated economic downturn has landlords in Edmonton offering move-in incentives to entice prospective tenants to rent their units.
The move-in freebies include reduced rent and other lease signing bonuses, according to listings compiled by Rentals.ca.
New tenants who sign a lease by October 31 get $100 their rent for the first six months of their tenancy.
New tenants at these townhomes can get one month free on a 12-month lease, one year of free Telus internet and TV, and are eligible for a reduced damaged deposit. Most of the townhomes are on three levels, and include a yard.
This complex is offering a free year of internet or TV, and free early move in after October 17 for those who sign a November 1 lease. Students are also eligible for an additional $100 off the sticker price. There are six-month, eight-month, nine-month, and 12-month leases offered.
New tenants can move in early after the 15th of the month, meaning they effectively get two weeks free on a 12 month lease.
