Edmonton Oilers fans will be treated to another free concert before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, and you’ve definitely heard one of the headliners.
The Arkells rocked out in Ice District ahead of Game 1 at the first edition of the NHL’s Festival at the Final, and now Edmonton fans will have a pair of hard rockers helping them get hyped.
Two Canadian bands will headline Friday’s concert at the Ice District Fan Park just East of Rogers Place. The Glorious Sons are set to play a full headlining set, while Triumph will perform live for the first time since 2008.
Triumph, in particular, has been going viral this playoffs as their iconic song “Lay It on the Line” has been heavily featured in a Rogers NHL commercial. That song will be performed as part of a three-song set from the Mississauga rockers.
“We’re thrilled to bring Triumph to the Rogers Festival at the Final, building on the success of our ad campaign that introduced a whole new generation of music fans to this iconic band,” said Terrie Tweddle, the Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Rogers.
“Together with The Glorious Sons, we know Oilers fans will enjoy a fantastic show ahead of Game 2.”

As mentioned, the concert will be completely free of charge and open to all ages. Fans do not need tickets to attend, but must have a LOILTY Rewards membership, which is also free to sign up for on the Oilers website.
Gates for the show will open at 3 p.m. MDT with performances starting at 3:40 p.m. It would be wise to get there well in advance of the gates opening, as the lines are bound to be long. This will give plenty of time for fans to enjoy the performances before the puck drops on Game 2 at 6 p.m. MDT.
The Arkells served as a bit of a lucky charm for the Oilers in Game 1. Leon Draisaitl scored the OT winner directly after the band’s hit song “Knocking at the Door” played during a break in play.

Having one of the Glorious Sons or Triumph do the same in Game 2 would send the Alberta capital into a frenzy.
