Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane continues to want a piece of American boxer and YouTuber Jake Paul.
Paul has become a household name in recent years after he chose to go down the boxing path. He has fought some well-known figures, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz. While all those bouts and several others have drawn plenty of viewers, last night was his biggest to date.
Paul got in the ring last night with 58-year-old Mike Tyson and won by unanimous decision. Some have praised him for beating one of the best boxers of all time, while others have scoffed at it, given Tyson’s age. It’s clear which category Kane falls into.
The Oilers forward has made it known in the past that he would like to get in the ring with Paul, challenging the 27-year-old years ago while he was still a member of the San Jose Sharks.
yo @jakepaul I’d wreck ya. Easy to beat up guys with no experience and much smaller. August 31st 2021 Vegas we can see if you really about that action. #YOURMOVE

Kane has stayed silent since, but that changed last night. Hours before the fight, Daily Faceoff put up a post looking back on Kane’s tweet, and the 33-year-old commented on it a short time later.
“Both of his eyes would be shut,” Kane wrote.
While Kane may not be a big enough name for Paul to consider, hockey fans would certainly be rooting to see it happen. Though Paul has gained some major experience in boxing, the critiques that he hasn’t fought a true competitor are valid. Kane’s boxing experience is unknown, but he certainly hasn’t been shy about dropping the gloves over his 15-year career.
Assuming Paul looks to continue his career in boxing moving forward, perhaps he gives the Oilers’ rugged winger the fight he’s been looking for.
