Leon Draisaitl finished second in Hart Trophy voting, in what was a fairly tight race.

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been named the NHL’s Most Valuable Player in 2024-25, while Nikita Kucherov finished third.

The Hart Trophy is one of many awards voted on annually by the Pro Hockey Writers Association.

The voting breakdown shows where Draisaitl and his Edmonton Oilers teammate Connor McDavid finished in the voting. Draisaitl had 53 first-place votes, 58 second-place votes, 38 third-place votes, 25 fourth-place votes, and eight fifth-place votes.

McDavid finished 10th in the race, receiving one second-place vote, four fourth-place votes, and seven fifth-place votes.

Draisaitl finished third in league scoring during the regular season with 106 points, behind only Kucherov (121 points) and Nathan MacKinnon (116).

This was the second time Draisaitl had been nominated for the award, as he won the Hart Trophy in 2019-20. McDavid, meanwhile, has won the Hart Trophy on three occasions: 2023, 2021, and 2017.

Hellebuyck, who finished with a record of 47-12-3 and a .925 save percentage, is the first Jets player ever to win the prestigious award. He’s also the first goaltender to win the Hart since Carey Price in 2015.
