The Edmonton Oilers have added some defensive depth on NHL trade deadline day.

Edmonton has acquired veteran defenceman Dmitry Kulikov from the New Jersey Devils for a conditional 2022 fourth-round draft pick.

According to Miller, the 2022 fourth-round draft pick condition is that if the Oilers win a playoff round this year, the selection will turn into a third-round pick.

The 30-year-old blueliner has two points in 38 games this season. Kulikov is also on a one-year deal with a salary of $1.15 million and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
