Morgan Wallen wows Edmonton with Connor McDavid and Oilers jersey fit

Country superstar Morgan Wallen kicked off his two-night concert stay in Edmonton last night, and he brought out Connor McDavid to kick off the show.
Wallen will be playing Commonwealth on Sept. 12 and 13 for his I’m the Problem tour, with special guests Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert last night and Ella Langley and Brooks & Dunn later tonight.
The sold-out crowd in Edmonton went wild when the show kicked off last night, and in true Morgan Wallen fashion, he has been bringing out special guests at the start of each show while he makes his way to the stage, with none other than Connor McDavid.
Wallen and the Oilers captain were shown walking to the stage for a little under a minute before emerging to the crowd, with the pair sharing a hug before the multi-platinum country singer left to kick off the concert with his hit song “Ain’t That Some.”

Wallen belted out more than 25 of his songs to the buzzing crowd, including the massive hits like “I Had Some Help”, “Last Night”, “Whiskey Glasses”, and his latest number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, “What I Want”, which features Alberta’s very own Tate McRae.
Wallen also sported a Wayne Gretzky jersey during the encore portion of the show, energizing the crowd while he ran up and down the stage for his final few songs.

Wallen kicked off his 19-date tour back in June and included stops in 10 cities across North America.
If your weekend travel plans take you anywhere near Commonwealth Stadium this weekend, you may want to consider taking another route.
If you’re heading to the concert, you may want to consider parking the car elsewhere and hopping on a train. The City of Edmonton says in a bid to make it easier for riders to take transit to the concert, Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) will allow riders to simply show their valid concert ticket as proof of payment when boarding any ETS bus or LRT.
This ticket will be accepted as a valid fare up to 90 minutes before the concert start time and 90 minutes after the concert ends. There is no need to tap on or off the Arc validators when using your concert ticket as fare.
“Please ensure you retain your ticket in case you are asked to show proof of fare during your trip,” the City added.
Park & Ride is available at the following locations:
- Eaux Claires Lot (97th Street and 157th Avenue)
- Lewis Farms (1021 Webber Greens Dr.) – Arrive early, as this location has limited parking spots due to Valley Line West LRT construction.
- NAIT Lots A/B and D (109th Street and 118th Avenue) – parking is $6 at these lots.
- Nakî Transit Centre (15520 Campbell Rd.)
ETS will also run a shuttle from Churchill Station (100th Street and 102nd Avenue northbound) to Stadium to transport people to and from the event.
These sites are accessible by regular ETS bus service to help concert-attendees easily access the Park & Ride service.
Buses will start running at 4 p.m. and run approximately every five minutes until the concert starts. After the concert ends, Park & Ride buses leave from Commonwealth Stadium until it is clear.
