We spoke to the team behind Edmonton’s FREE family car show to see what’s different this year
Summer has arrived, which means the Manning Motor Show is set to make its return to Edmonton on Sunday, June 29.
In just its second year, the Manning Motor Show is still a relatively new summer event, and, as Marketing Manager Mona Butler explains, was created from a desire to bring something completely new to the community.
While the other two events hosted by the Cameron Corporation cater more towards younger children, this family-friendly event skews towards adults and families with older children as well.
“We were blown away by the overwhelmingly positive reactions from guests and drivers alike,” says Butler. “To hear from multiple drivers that it was the most well-organized car show they had ever attended was an honour, and so, of course, we want to build on that.”
More than just cars
The show features cars for every enthusiast, from classics to tuners to imports, and more! On top of that, there are super fun on-site activations planned, like sweet tunes from DJ Kwake, roaming dancers, and racing simulators by Reboot Racing with a donation to charitable partner YOUCAN Youth Services.
There will also be giveaways with amazing prizes, and booths from beloved Manning Town Centre retailers like CoCo Bubble Tea, Browns Socialhouse, Canadian Tire, Maverick’s Donuts, Ribeye Butcher Shop, Expedia Cruises, and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.
Planning for the event started back in February, when Butler and the Cameron Corporation team reviewed the notes and feedback from last year to start making their plans for 2025.
“We are bringing back most of the activations that people loved from last year, but we took the time to reflect on how we could improve our process this year for our vendors and drivers,” explains Butler.
“What makes an event like this really special is that it’s never exactly the same year after year. We are welcoming quite a few drivers from last year, but there are also a ton of new ones joining us.”
For an afternoon filled with classic cars, contagious enthusiasm, and fun for all ages, head on down to the Manning Motor Show on Sunday, June 29, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Manning Town Centre.
