Ring in the Year of the Ox with Edmonton's Lunar New Year celebration

Feb 5 2021, 11:07 pm

Join Kingsway Mall virtually this weekend to ring in the Lunar New Year!

Year of the Ox celebrations include lion dancing, traditional music ensembles, storytelling, and other special performances.

If hands-on activities are more your thing, try an online cooking class, join a virtual Tai-chi workshop, or find your creative side with one of the Lunar New Year craft-making sessions.

“We hope everyone tunes in to experience the wonderful diversity and traditions of our community,” invites Bo Tarasenko, Marketing Manager at Kingsway Mall.

Event programming runs from noon to 5 pm on both February 6 and 7, and the lineup varies throughout the weekend, offering something for everyone.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue the tradition of celebrating Lunar New Year,” says Tarasenko, “This has grown into one of our most joyous events.”

“This year the community has really come together to make sure that not only Edmontonians, but also their friends and family from around the world are able to join in with a unique program of live performances and activities online.”
