This inspiring coffee chain just announced its first Edmonton location
Lil E Coffee Cafe is coming to Edmonton next year, and it’s bringing along a boatload of opportunities for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
According to the cafe’s website, the concept was inspired by founder Paul Constance’s daughter, Ella. The team recognized that over 75 per cent of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities between the ages of 18 and 40 remain unemployed in Canada, and Lil E was created to bridge this gap.
Lil E addresses these challenges through a structured training and employment program designed specifically for youth with disabilities transitioning into adulthood.
After success at its locations in Calgary and Toronto, Lil E recently announced it would be opening a new location at Edmonton’s former Bell Tower in early 2027.

“As we continue our quest to build 10,000 careers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this next chapter means more opportunities for meaningful employment, skill development, confidence, connection, and belonging,” reads the team’s message on Instagram.
