Parking fee prices at Lake Louise will see an increase in 2026

If your summer plans involve a trip to Lake Louise, be prepared to see a rise in the fee for prime parking spots near the iconic lake next year.

Paid parking at the Lake Louise Lakeshore is in effect during the shuttle season in Banff National Park, which runs from May to October.

The cost to park at this popular tourist destination sat at $36.75 during the 2025 season for general parking and $8 for accessible parking, and Parks Canada says its fixed fees, such as Lake Louise Lakeshore parking, will increase by 10.7 per cent on Jan. 1, 2026.

Parks Canada added that through the Service Fees Act, all federal departments are required to adjust service fees based on the Consumer Price Index. Parks Canada makes these adjustments every two years, allowing the federal agency to keep pace with the rising costs associated with operations.

Some fees are also based on the cost of the third-party provider, with Parks Canada pointing to the fees for the Lake Louise Shuttle service as an example that helps recover expenses for the traffic management program.

Parking fees were first introduced to Lake Louise in 2021, when the price was $11.70. The following year, the price was increased to $12.25, and then to $21 in 2023.

During the holidays and Summer 2026, Parks Canada will continue to charge fees for other experiences and services, like hot springs, mooring and boat launch, camping and reservation fees, guided tours, hikes and programs not usually included with admission, services provided by third parties, fishing licenses, firewood, and parking. Regular admission fees will also apply to visitors coming to Parks Canada places outside of the Canada Strong Pass window.
