Feb 27 2020, 6:04 pm

Family-owned and operated food retailer the Italian Centre Shop has revealed a new Edmonton suburb location is in the works.

The Alberta-based brand will be opening its fifth location in Strathcona County’s Sherwood Park at 8005 Emerald Drive in Emerald Hills Urban Village.

Known for its signature deli, bakery, and an array of quality grocery items, the newest YEG spot is set to be unveiled in Fall 2021.

The fresh 22,500-sq. ft. space will also boast a licensed 50-seat cafe and a 30-seat patio too.

Shoppers can expect an authentic pizza oven, cheese wall display, and “state-of-the-art demonstration stations.”

In addition to this, the new store will be Western Canada’s largest deli offering over 500 cured meats, cheeses, olives, and antipasti.

Founded in Edmonton’s Little Italy over 60 years ago, the Italian Centre Shop now operates three Edmonton locations and one location in Calgary’s Willow Park.

We’ll keep you posted as more details about this project are released.
