How to watch tonight's Edmonton Oilers-Anaheim Ducks game that isn't on Sportsnet

The Edmonton Oilers will have Josh Samanski making his NHL debut and Kasperi Kapanen returning to the lineup tonight, but fans won’t be able to catch the game on Sportsnet.

After a thrilling comeback victory over the Washington Capitals on Saturday, Edmonton is welcoming in a red-hot Anaheim Ducks club into Rogers Place. The Oilers are riding high after the win over the weekend as they try to string together a winning streak.

Fans searching for their game on the TV guide will not be able to find the matchup, however, as the game will instead be streamed on Prime Video. This will be the Oilers’ third and final game on the streaming giant this season.

This means a whole new broadcast crew will be in charge of presenting tonight’s game. John Forslund will take over play-by-play duties with former NHLers Jody Shelley, Shane Hnidy, and Thomas Hickey acting as analysts.

Former Oilers defenceman Chris Pronger will also be in the building, helping out on the broadcast. Christine Simpson, Adnan Virk, Andi Petrillo, and Blake Bolden will join Pronger on the desk.

Fans wanting to watch the action will need to hold a subscription to Prime Video, which costs $9.99 a month or $99 for a full year. Students can grab a discounted rate of $4.99 a month or $49 for a year. Newcomers are eligible for a 30-day free trial (one that ups to a whopping six months for students).

The Oilers have a perfect 2-0-0 record when playing games streamed on Prime, which is a stark difference from last season’s bizarre curse. If they can find a way to pull out a victory tonight, it will be a clean sweep of their Prime Video schedule this time around.

Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m. MST.
