Catch a free shuttle to Edmonton's Candy Cane Lane on December 12

Dec 12 2019, 8:30 pm

One of Edmonton’s most anticipated Christmas events is launching this evening, and to help you get to the festivities faster, Edmonton Transit Service is offering a free shuttle.

In a tweet, ETS announced that they have been contracted to provide a free park-and-ride shuttle bus from Edmonton Valley Zoo to Candy Cane Lane.

On opening night tonight, from 6 to 9 pm, you can enjoy the Christmas lights and festive cheer of Candy Cane Lane on foot or bike for the first time ever.

The shuttle gives Edmontonians a quicker way to get to and from the magic.

ETS says the shuttle will operate from 5 to 10 pm, leaving every 30 minutes, with three stops along the route.

The event takes place in the Crestwood community, with entire neighbourhoods decorating the exterior of their homes in celebration of the holiday season.

YEG Candy Cane Lane is in support of the Edmonton Food Bank, with more than 360,000 kilograms of food being donated over the last two decades, and with an average of 25,000 kilograms of food being donated per year.

Bring the whole family and enjoy the holiday festivities, and this time, you can leave the keys at home.
