Spring is so close we can almost taste it, but the weather in Edmonton has unfortunately not yet gotten the memo — as snow continues to pile up in the city.

According to Environment Canada, high winds and flurries are on the forecast for Edmonton this week, along with subzero temperatures.

Edmonton forecast

Environment Canada

On Tuesday, winds are expected to blow between 20 to 40 km/h during the day, and 15 km/h in the evening, while on Wednesday, winds will blow northwest between 30 to 50 km/h by noon.

There’s a 60% chance of flurries in the afternoon on Wednesday, and a low of -9.

The sun will make a brief appearance on Thursday and Friday, before snow returns on Saturday, bringing with it freezing temperatures and a low of -17°C.

It isn’t time to pack up those winter coats in Edmonton just yet, but it isn’t all bad, as things slightly “warm up” into next week.
