The Florida Panthers clearly don’t have much of an issue dancing on the Edmonton Oilers’ collective graves.

On Tuesday night, the Panthers completed their second consecutive Stanley Cup victory over the Oilers, with a little bit less drama than last year’s seven-game affair.

While Edmonton did pick up a pair of overtime victories (and even had a 1-0 series lead at one point), the Panthers outscored the Oilers 28-17 across the six games and stomped them with a 6-1 exclamation point in Game 6 to complete the repeat.

In the locker room postgame, the Panthers took the trolling up a notch, with the team’s arena speakers blasting the Chappell Roan hit “Pink Pony Club,” which became one of the Oilers’ de facto anthems of their run to the Stanley Cup Final this year.

Complete with a cigar and a champagne bottle, Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk was at the centre of the celebration while celebrating his second Stanley Cup in just his third season in Florida.

Panthers vice president of digital marketing Jason Wise also shared a video of Florida staffers busting out a move to the track in the arena in a video uploaded at 1:49 am ET.

The party didn’t stop once the night got late, though, with the Panthers already being seen early Wednesday morning hitting up the historic Elbo Room beach bar with the Stanley Cup.

While the Oilers players themselves wouldn’t divulge much of the origin story of how they picked a song about a young queer woman finding their identity after moving from Tennessee to Los Angeles, the song quickly became associated with the team throughout this year’s run to the Final.

But with the Panthers now shoving it right back at the Oilers, we might not be hearing it used in too many more Edmonton celebrations for the time being.
