Earlier this month, new Oilers forward Andrew Mangiapane and his wife, Claudia, welcomed a baby named AJ into the world, the first child for the couple.

“One week of loving you AJ,” Claudia wrote on Instagram. “Arriving August 7 at 7 lbs 0 oz, just 72 hours after getting back to Alberta. The best surprise!”
What does the new dad expect from his first year with the Oilers?
Mangiapane is well known to Oilers fans from his time with the Calgary Flames, having spent seven years playing on the other side of the rivalry.
āItās gonna be fun to participate in the Battle of Alberta again,ā Mangiapane said in an introductory media availability last month. āI think this was just a great fit for me. Edmonton has a great team, so I just want to come in and play my game and help the team in any way possible to win.
āIām excited to be here, excited to be an Oiler, and excited to get things going.ā
Mangiapane was traded to the Washington Capitals prior to last season, putting up 14 goals and 28 points through 81 games.
āLast year was a little bit of a down year for me, but I think I can get right back to where Iāve been and what I can do,ā Mangiapane said.
