
The chilly temperatures that are gripping Edmonton will be over soon, and the warmup forecast for the city will likely melt a significant amount of snow.
Snow has been on and off for our city to start this week, but as we roll towards the end of the workweek and into the weekend, a beautiful warm spell is on tap.
Looking at the seven-day forecast for Edmonton from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), we may be saying goodbye to plenty of snow soon, going from an overnight low of -16°C tonight to a daytime high of 5°C by Thursday, March 5.
The forecast is looking even nicer for Friday, March 6, with a daytime high of 7°C, and staying above freezing overnight with a low of 3°C.
The peak of the heat is pegged for Saturday, March 7, with a stunning high of 12°C before dipping down to 5°C on Sunday, March 8, and back below the freezing mark with a high of -1°C on Monday, March 9.
When you do the math between the low in store for tonight and the daytime high on Saturday, that’s a difference of 28 degrees over just a handful of days. Prepare for some slushy conditions around the city!
