Extreme cold weather to continue throughout Family Day weekend in Edmonton
The Family Day Weekend won’t be bringing any warm temperatures to Edmonton this year.
It’s -21°C in Edmonton right now, although it feels more like -29°C with the windchill.
The extreme cold warning that Environment Canada put into place on Monday morning is still in effect today, so bundle up if you have to go outside – Environment Canada warns that frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

According to The Weather Network, Friday will remain partly cloudy into the evening, clearing up for a sunny Saturday morning.

Expect a high of -32°C that feels like -43°C on Saturday morning, with things warming up to -22°C by the afternoon.
Sunday brings more sunshine and a high of -18°C, and Environment Canada announced that the prolonged cold snap in Alberta is predicted to end by Monday.
