There’s an Edmonton ice cream shop opening a new indoor location in the heart of the city.

DRTY Ice Cream was established in 2020 as a side hustle while working the founder, Abby Ulanimo, worked her accounting job, stocking freezers at small businesses and cafes. The first location is situated on Whyte Avenue at Station Park, serving ice cream inspired by Filipino sorbetes, a popular street food in the Philippines.

Following the uproar of success it had first achieved, it only made sense to continue to grow and expand this new venture.

Now, in 2026, DRTY Ice Cream is opening its second location in the downtown core of Edmonton.

Its new location is inside Foosh‘s downtown location, a space combining streetwear and other goods.

Good news, you won’t have to wait much longer, because the soft opening date for this ice cream shop is this Saturday, Jan. 17, from noon to 9 p.m.

Although it’s a soft opening, they won’t be serving soft serve.

Instead, you can expect ice cream flights, mini scoops and cones, and innovative twists on classic flavours you know and love.

And, don’t worry, it’s not actually dirty. It’s called DRTY Ice Cream because of its sorbetes roots, with locals in the Philippines referring to it as “dirty ice cream” as a joke. This delicious treat will forever be remembered by this catchy phrase.

The weather is getting perfect for ice cream. So, get your coat on, grab your mittens, and prepare yourself for a whirlwind of flavours.

This new spot is taking over downtown desserts.
