Coronavirus cases identified at eight more Edmonton schools

Edmonton Public Schools has confirmed there were eight more coronavirus cases discovered Wednesday at its schools.

At outbreak was declared at J. Percy Page School because a second individual in two weeks from the school community has tested positive for coronavirus.

Another case was also discovered at Kirkness School, where an outbreak has already been declared.

The other schools were individuals tested positive for coronavirus were W.P. Wagner, York School, Jan Reimer School, Michael Strembitsky School, Queen Elizabeth School, and Ekota School.

More than a hundred additional students and staff need to isolate because they were in close contact with these latest cases.

The school district says it will provide learning supports to those who’ve been told to isolate at home.
