A new consignment clothing store is opening just west of Edmonton

If you’re looking to save some coin and help the planet, a new consignment clothing store is opening up in a small city just west of Edmonton next week.

Plato’s Closet will hold its grand opening of its new location at 140 St. Matthews Ave. in Spruce Grove on Thursday, May 8.

The brand is known for its affordable, gently used clothing, shoes, accessories and more, and for buying gently used brand-name clothing to sell in its stores.

“We are excited to bring Plato’s Closet to Spruce Grove,” said Laura Thompson, owner of Plato’s Closet, in a news release. “This is my fourth location in Alberta, and each one has been a reflection of the amazing communities we serve. We look forward to providing a place for teens and young adults to shop at an affordable price, and a place for them to bring their gently used clothing in exchange for cash on the spot.”

No appointment is necessary to sell clothing and accessories to Plato’s Closet, and customers can achieve savings of up to 70 per cent off brand-name clothing and accessories and receive cash on the spot for gently used items that are outgrown or no longer wanted.

Plato’s Closet Spruce Grove is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
