Shoppers have just under a month to enjoy a Chapters location in south Edmonton, as its Southpoint location is set to close in February.
Daily Hive has confirmed that the store, located at 3227 Calgary Trail NW, will close for good on Saturday, February 22.
According to staff, the store’s lease was ending and a decision was made not to renew it.
“As of February 22, 2025, we will be closing our Chapters Southpoint location. Thank you for being a loyal customer and for your continued support,” a survey for customers reads.
Following the closure, only two locations will remain in the greater Edmonton area — one on the Westside and another in St. Albert.
The store’s parent company, Indigo, has locations across Edmonton.
Chapters was founded in 1995 in Toronto and has been a staple for Canadian book lovers ever since.
