Canada kept the good times rolling in the Olympic men’s hockey tournament.
After beating Czechia and Switzerland in the first two preliminary games, the Canadians routed France 10-2 on Sunday to improve to a perfect 3-0-0.
It was a bit of a dicey start with France somehow playing to a 1-1 tie with Canada midway through the first period, but the rink quickly tilted afterwards.
Nine different Canadians recorded goals in the blowout, while Macklin Celebrini, Sidney Crosby, Mark Stone, and Connor McDavid each notched three points in the blowout. This is the first time that Canada has posted a perfect preliminary record in the Olympics since Nagano 1998.

It wasn’t exactly a memorable game for Canadian goalie Jordan Binnington, who let in two goals on 14 shots.
Though the score was lopsided, there was still a bit of emotion near the end of the game. Tom Wilson dropped the gloves with Pierre Crinon with under five minutes left, in response to a crushing hit that Crinon laid on Nathan MacKinnon earlier in the period.
It’s not often you see two players drop the gloves during the Olympics.

“Tom’s a good teammate and I definitely appreciate him sticking up for me,” MacKinnon told reporters post-game.
“That guy obviously didn’t want to fight Tom. He just wanted to wrestle. I wouldn’t want to fight Tom either.”

Canada will finish atop the Group A standings, being the only undefeated team, earning a bye to the quarter-final.
We’ll have to see if they finish as the No. 1 seed among all three groups, as Team USA plays later in the day. The Americans will surpass Canada if they beat Germany by at least 10 goals.
