The Canadian women’s rugby team has advanced to the 2025 Rugby World Cup Final.

After a massive 46-5 win over Australia last week, Canada was able to maintain their composure despite a late rally from New Zealand in the semi-final, winning 34-19 to punch their ticket to the Women’s World Cup Final.

Leading the way for Canada in Friday’s semi-final was Victoria’s Sophie de Goede. The 26-year-old stepped up in a big way, finishing the outing with a try, two conversions, and a penalty.

The Canadian women will now await the winner of Saturday’s semi-final between England and France to determine who they’ll match up against.

This will mark the second time for Canada competing in the Women’s World Cup Final. Their first and only time playing in the final came back in 2014, where they fell to England. England currently sits atop the World Rugby rankings, while Canada ranks second. New Zealand, meanwhile, sits third on the list, while France is fourth.

The final will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Allianz Stadium in London.
