A HUGE new bike park is being built in central Edmonton

Edmonton is well-known for its massive mountain biking community, and a new bike park in the heart of the city is set to make YEG a major hotspot.
Queen Elizabeth Park will soon be home to the Edmonton Bike Park, as the Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance has announced plans to break ground later this year.
The Edmonton Bike Park will be the first of its kind in the city, providing a dedicated and safe space for skill progression and various flow trails, jump lines, and skills areas.

“This project is the result of years of community engagement, advocacy, and collaboration between EMBA, the City of Edmonton, and Albertaās mountain biking community,” the Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance stated.
The park is being funded by a $612,000 grant recently approved through the Government of Alberta’s Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP). The total project budget is $1.24 million, with $407,000 from a City of Edmonton grant and $177,000 in private donations contributing to the rest of the total.
In addition, EMBA and the City of Edmonton are working to finalize commitments around an operations plan to support bike park maintenance and ensure its long-term success.
Approvals are already in progress for permitting and environmental review of the bike park. Construction is set to begin later this year, with the park’s grand opening set for Spring/Summer 2026.Ā
