Alberta reports 366 new COVID-19 infections as active cases decrease
Alberta discovered another 366 COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced at a press conference Tuesday.
That number is in line with the 362 cases seen Monday. The province’s active case count and number of hospitalizations have slowly been falling over the last two weeks.
Hinshaw said public health staff are monitoring virus indicators to decide when it’s safe to further relax restrictions. She’s previously said she doesn’t want to open too soon and risk a rebound.

Another 12 deaths were also reported in the last day, bringing Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll to 1,587.
There are now 8,652 active infections, a drop from more than 13,000 earlier this month.
Nearly 100,000 Albertans have received a shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 10,000 who have received two doses and are now considered immune.
