It’s time to give a local landmark some love. The 2025 Edmonton Tourism Awards just announced this year’s winners, and this iconic spot won attraction of the year.
If you weren’t aware, the Edmonton Tourism Awards aim to shine a light on contributions to the city’s tourism scene. The awards celebrate individuals and organizations that play a pivotal role in promoting Edmonton as a travel destination.
The third annual ceremony took place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Expo Centre and was hosted by Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels.
The executive director, Chris Yeung, said, “The Edmonton Tourism Awards is a day of recognition, appreciation, respect, and paying tribute to a job well done. We are delighted to host this celebration and applaud the Best of Edmonton in the tourism industry.”

So, which attraction came out on top? None other than the Alberta Legislature and Visitor Centre.

The Alberta Legislature attracts over 135,000 visitors each year. The site blends history, architecture, and education through guided tours, public programming, and immersive exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy the grandeur of the historic Legislature Building along with the interactive Democracy Discovery Centre, Borealis Gallery, and Pehonan Theatre, all while learning about democracy in action.
The Legislature also plays an active role in promoting Edmonton and driving the downtown economy. Events like the 44th CPA Canadian Regional Parliamentary Seminar are hosted here, while the site also supports local restaurants, hotels, and transportation by connecting guests with nearby businesses.
While the Alberta Legislature may have won the crown, the awards also gave notable mentions to the Art Gallery of Alberta and Fort Edmonton Park.
The AGA spans four floors of gallery and education spaces and sees over 48,000 visitors per year who come to explore the diverse range of exhibitions, programs, and events.
Likewise, Fort Edmonton Park is Canada’s largest living history museum and one of Edmonton’s absolute must-try experiences. Covering eras from the 1700s to the 1920s, the park immerses visitors in Edmonton’s past through costumed interpreters, hands-on exhibits, and historical reenactments.
Besides local attractions, other award categories included culinary tourism, cultural experiences, great places to work, and more. You can read through the complete winners for the Edmonton Tourism Awards 2025 online.
