Alberta health officials have announced two more coronavirus-related deaths in the province.

Premier Jason Kenney made the announcement in a press conference Wednesday afternoon, with the latest update bringing the province’s fatality count to 11.

“Things will get worse before they get better,” said Kenney.

Premier Kenney explained that the jump is due to the fact that Alberta Health Services processed over 4,500 backlogged tests over the past 24 hours.

There are now 871 known coronavirus cases and 142 known recoveries in Alberta.
