Alberta health officials have confirmed 34 new coronavirus cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, Alberta has seen 7,044 coronavirus cases. The majority have been found in the Calgary zone.

As of Monday afternoon, no new deaths were recorded. This leaves Alberta’s coronavirus death toll at 143.

Alberta also reported more recoveries. There are now 6,501 people in the province who have cleared their coronavirus infection.

Last week, Alberta made coronavirus testing available to everyone in the province whether or not they have symptoms.

The province hopes expanded testing will allow health officials to further understand the virus’ impacts, which will inform reopening decisions.
