Alberta’s McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, and A&W locations are all out of free, non-medical masks.

The mask distribution kicked off earlier this month, and has since seen 14 million masks given out through drive-thrus windows throughout the province.

A release from the Alberta government states that, while the fast-food locations are currently out of stock, they plan to distribute 20 million more masks in July.

“Thank you to all our partners for helping our government distribute millions of non-medical masks to every corner of Alberta,” said Minister of Health Tyler Shandro in the release.

“No other province in Canada has accomplished such a feat. A program of this scale would not have been possible without your hard work and community support. We will continue to support Albertans as we move through stage two of relaunch, and people continue to get back to work.”

Along with the 14 million that were given out at partner restaurants, the province also distributed six million masks to municipalities, seniors organizations, Indigenous partners, places of worship, and others throughout Alberta.

More information about July’s 20 million masks will be provided within the next few weeks, according to the release.
