Air Canada just added a new route from Edmonton to a hot and sunny destination

If the sight of snow falling in April has you plotting your next beach getaway, there’s some good news for Edmonton travellers.
Air Canada has announced a new non-stop route between Edmonton and the relaxed island vibes of Montego Bay, Jamaica, giving us one more way to escape the cold.
The new seasonal flight will run daily from December 7, 2026, through April 4, 2027.
The route is part of a broader expansion that includes added service to destinations across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, along with new routes to the Canary Islands and cities including Santo Domingo and Mérida.

“We are further cementing Air Canada’s global network as one of the most far-reaching from the North American continent,” said Mark Galardo, executive vice-president at Air Canada.
But while much of that expansion is focused on the east, we still love seeing new daily routes out of YEG, especially when it means one less layover between us and the beach!
