Edmonton Public Schools released information Tuesday about COVID-19 cases discovered at 21 of its schools on November 30 and December 1.

Over the course of those two days, the school district said it’s heard of 27 new infections. It’s now sharing information about all cases that families disclose, not just ones that have been confirmed by Alberta Health Services.

Three individuals at Ross Sheppard School tested positive, and two individuals at Hospital Campus, Velma E. Baker School, Horse Hill School, and Harry Ainlay School tested positive.

One individual at the following schools tested positive: Brander Gardens, Lago Lindo, Mayokumin, T.D. Baker, Lymburn, Weinlos, Ivor Dent, Waverley, Laurier Heights, Edmonton Christian, Calder, David Thomas King, Sifton, Elizabeth Finch, Michael Phair, and Vimy Ridge Academy.

The latest cases mean hundreds more students and staff need to self-isolate at home because they were close contacts. The school district says families affected have been notified, and those who must stay home will receive learning supports.
