New COVID-19 cases identified at 16 Edmonton public schools

New COVID-19 cases have been identified at 16 more Edmonton public schools in the past 24 hours, according to the school district.

On December 9, one individual each at Montrose, Evansdale, Belvedere, Jasper Place, Aldergrove, and Lago Lindo tested positive for the virus. Two individuals at Donnan tested positive.

On December 10, another three people at Aldergrove tested positive. Two people at John A. McDougall also tested positive. One person each at Duggan, Dr. Donald Massey, Elmwood, Caernarvon, Johnny Bright, Avonmore, Lorelei, and Hardisty also received positive tests.

The school district says close contacts of the infected individuals have already been contacted and instructed to self-isolate. Those who have to stay home will be given learning supports, it added.
