The family of a Canadian couple known for their popular YouTube off-roading channel is mourning after the pair were killed in an accident.
Nanaimo, B.C., residents Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans were active members of the international off-roading community, sharing their adventures for the past five years on their YouTube channel, Toyota World Runners, which has more than 206,000 subscribers. The couple also documented their experiences in a blog. However, Tourout and Yeomans were killed in an accident in B.C. on Aug. 7.

In a press release, Kaslo Search and Rescue stated that it received a call about a serious motor vehicle rollover near Silver Cup Ridge, adjacent to Trout Lake, high in the Purcell Range. Ground teams and a quad team were dispatched, assisted by a local helicopter and pilot.
Upon arriving, one person was found without vital signs and another person was found away from the crash site, “disoriented and suffering from serious injuries.” The injured person was stabilized and flown to Nakusp Hospital, where she passed away that evening.
“It was a challenging rescue and recovery for the team after an intensely busy few days,” said Mark Jennings-Bates, communications manager for Kaslo Search and Rescue. “The remote access, high altitude, and limited daylight all added complexity to an already difficult situation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those involved.”
Tourout’s mother, Colleen Tourout, confirmed the tragic news on social media.

“With unimaginable heartache, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout would like to advise that we lost them both tragically, succumbing to injuries in an off-road accident on Aug. 7, 2025, in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much,” she wrote. “Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing love story. They are together forever, as we knew they would always be.”
According to their YouTube channel, Tourout and Yeomans built “the world’s first Land Cruiser Chinook in 100 days,” a custom-built recreational vehicle.
Their channel’s description reads, “This is their story about the adventure, the personal growth and choosing to live life and create a legacy community of people who are seekers of the unknown.”
