If summer feels like it ended way too soon and you’re already dreaming of your next winter getaway, WestJet and Sunwing Vacations have just made it a little more rewarding.
Those looking to escape the Canadian winter can now enjoy the benefits of booking their trip with Sunwing Vacations if they’re WestJet rewards members. That’s because starting Thursday, WestJet has expanded its program to include Sunwing Vacations.
That means members can now earn WestJet points on eligible vacation packages and take advantage of some pretty great perks when they travel.
What are some of the benefits?

Here’s everything WestJet Rewards members can now expect when they buy eligible Sunwing Vacation packages:
- Earn points: Members earn one point for every Canadian dollar spent on an eligible package, excluding taxes, fees, and charges. Everyone on the booking with a rewards ID can earn points based on their individual share of the package price.
- Earn qualifying spend: Members can also earn tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend at a rate of 20 per cent of their individual share of the total package.
- Enjoy travel perks: Silver, Gold, or Platinum members can use their WestJet day-of-travel perks, including free checked baggage and priority services, when checking in for their WestJet flight.
- Redeem points: Members can use their WestJet points toward the full cost of an eligible Sunwing Vacations package, including taxes, fees, and charges. A minimum of 5,000 points is required. Members have had the option to redeem points on eligible Sunwing Vacation packages since 2024.
Not a rewards member? You can sign up online for free to start collecting points and unlock additional perks and offers through partnerships with TELUS, Canadian Tire, and Skip.
“We’re creating more opportunities for members to turn travel and everyday spending into meaningful rewards, helping them get to their next vacation sooner and make the most of their travel experiences,” said Steve McClelland, WestJet vice-president, loyalty and strategic partnerships.
