Canadians can now fly across multiple airlines with one WestJet booking

WestJet now lets Canadians access even more international destinations, and booking trips just got a whole lot easier.
On Wednesday, WestJet announced that it’s streamlining the process for Canadian travellers looking to book trips through multiple airline partners. Regardless of which airline partner they’re travelling with, they can easily book their trips through WestJet’s website, app, or contact centre. That means even if your trip requires connections and travel through different partner airlines, it will all count as one reservation.
Doing so simplifies the process as you’ll be able to manage changes and cancellations directly with WestJet. You’ll also receive all your boarding passes at the first point in your check-in process, as well as baggage tags for your destination.
And it doesn’t matter which airline partner you fly with if you book through WestJet — you’ll still be able to rack up WestJet Rewards. And as for the WestJet Rewards that you’ve been saving up, you can use those points as a form of payment on your trip.

“Direct channel booking for interline is a meaningful enhancement for our guests looking to explore new horizons,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet director of airport affairs and alliances. “They will enjoy benefits similar to a codeshare, or WestJet-operated itinerary, now with the luxury of more destinations.”
The airline also officially launched its partnership with Panama-based airline Copa, which means that Canadians can now book to travel to 37 new destinations. Plans were first announced in August 2025.
Copa gives Canadians access to multiple destinations in 18 countries, including Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay.
WestJet currently has nearly 50 interline partners, and plans to add over 10 more by the end of 2026. Those partnerships will open up 100 additional new destinations for customers.
Canadian airline Air Transat offers a similar feature, with interline flights making it easier for passengers to fly on multiple airlines using a single itinerary.
