Multiple reports of incidents have prompted Tim Hortons to recall thousands of mugs across Canada.

On Monday, Health Canada announced that it’s recalling thousands of Tim Hortons mugs due to a safety issue. The recall involves the Tim Hortons Pink and White Colour Changing Donut Mug. This 16-oz white ceramic mug has a pink handle and matching pink interior. The front is decorated with a donut design, and the chocolate donut decal changes colour to reveal one of four designs when warm liquid is poured into the mug.

“The mug may crack or break when in use or filled with hot liquid, posing a burn hazard to users,” warns Health Canada. “As of March 10, 2026, the company has received 28 reports of incidents in Canada, and one report of burn injury.”

Anyone who owns the recalled mug is urged to immediately stop using it and return it to a Tim Hortons restaurant location, and make sure to do so by April 22 to get a full refund.

“Returns may be accepted thereafter for refund,” reads the statement.

From January 2026 to February 2026, over 25,040 units of the affected mugs were sold in Canada at Tim Hortons locations and online. The mugs were manufactured by China-based company Anbo Home Goods Co. Ltd. The products were imported and distributed by Canadian companies Umbra Ltd. and The TDL Group Corp.

“Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada,” states Health Canada.

The health department is urging anyone who experienced a health or safety incident from using the recalled product to fill out a Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

For more information, visit the company’s website if you bought the product at a Tim Hortons restaurant. If you purchased the product online, you can send an email to support@timshop.ca.
