Summer is finally here, and that means it’s time to soak up the sun and have as much fun as possible! And Canadians don’t have to look far for some new adventures.
One of Saskatchewan’s best summer hangouts is none other than Watrous & Manitou Beach. A magical little beachy spot with a distinct culture and vibe, there’s always fun to be had no matter what the day brings.
From late-night dancing to pampering spas and everything in between, take a look at these hidden-gem Watrous & Manitou activities!
Little Manitou Lake

Watrous & Manitou Beach
Float effortlessly with the natural phenomena of Little Manitou Lake! Due to the water’s high mineral levels, you’ll be bobbing along the waves with ease.
After a dip, dry out on the sandy beach or hike some scenic trails! Don’t forget to check out the local shops, restaurants, and shows too.
Manitou Springs Resorts and Mineral Spa
Enjoy some well-deserved relaxation at Canada’s largest indoor mineral spa. Soothing mineral waters are heated between 96-103F degrees so you can float and unwind, while the resort’s Serenity Massage and Esthetics Spa‘s treatments are ideal for total wellness.
Facials, hot wraps, nail care, and massage packages are great options for a little pampering. Check out the spa’s Manitou Minerals Mud Facial that’s designed to detoxify the skin and replenish moisture levels.
Salty Cinema Drive-In Theatre
Now this is a sweet treat! Head down to the Salty Cinema Drive-in Theatre for movies under the wide-open prairie sky, featuring a new projector, the latest releases, and a refinished screen to enhance the in-car experience. As one of Saskatchewan’s few remaining drive-ins, the Salty is especially unique because it also has a classic indoor movie theatre with seating for 24 viewers.
Catch a flick on a Sunday, grab some Milk Duds from the retro concession, and check out the Salty’s Outdoor Flea Market for vintage finds and tasty snacks too!
Danceland
An iconic piece of Manitou history, Danceland is an absolute must-visit. First opened in 1930, this famed ballroom has seen orchestras, big-band shows, body-shaking dances, and some of Saskatchewan’s biggest musicians.
Bring yourself down to the dance floor and show off your moves — it’s actually supported from underneath and is built on cushioning coils of horse hair! This means the dance floor moves gently under the rhythm of the dancers above. Dance it to believe it!
Little Manitou Art Gallery
For a taste of that special Manitou culture, take a trip to the Little Manitou Art Gallery for a view of local artworks and goods. Jewelry, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and more are always on display, and in the summer months, it’s also a spot to hear some live tunes or grab a bite from the Splash Café!
