Canadian couple looks forward to buying a home after $1 million lottery win

A Calgary man and his wife are looking forward to buying a home together after a massive lottery win.

Lovepreet Singh scored a $1 million prize on the Lotto 6/49’s Gold Ball draw.

The Calgarian was out running errands when he stopped for gas and decided to check his ticket.

“I went out for a haircut while my wife was sleeping,” he said. “I checked my ticket and saw I’d won a million dollars — so I sent her a Snapchat of it!”

Singh was met with an enthusiastic response upon his return home.

“She was shouting on the stairs when I got home!” he laughed. “She was completely surprised and so excited!”

In her excitement, Singh’s wife quickly shared the news with their family.

“She called my mother,” he laughed. “I didn’t even get a chance!”

Now, the couple is planning their next big step — buying a house together.

“It’s been like a dream come true!” Singh said.

Singh purchased his winning ticket at the Circle K located at 3 Corral Springs Boulevard NE in Calgary. His prize came from the March 15 draw with the Gold Ball selection 32814105-02, a white ball.
