Canadian flying to see his mom in Korea after $15M lottery win
A Canadian man says he can finally take a trip and visit his mom in Korea, after netting a massive $15 million lottery win.
Tae Seong Lee became a multi-millionaire after winning the Oct. 7, 2025, Lotto Max jackpot, and theĀ Edmontonian said he took a while to check his ticket, but when he did, he was shocked to see the win come up on screen in the store.
āIāve always dreamed of this day,ā he smiled when speaking with Lotto Spot. āBut when I first found out, I couldnāt quite believe it and had to scan again!ā
Lee told his wife first, then his daughter, who both celebrated with him and began discussing how he would enjoy the winnings.
āThe first thing on my mind is paying off our mortgage,ā he said. āMaybe Iāll replace our car after that!ā
Lee said heās dreamed of a larger vehicle and may even buy a new truck. He’s also always wanted to travel more, along with doing more community and charity work.
Lee said he hasnāt been able to visit his mom overseas for a few years and is eager to make the trip.
āIāll finally be able to go see my mom in Korea!ā he smiled.

Lee added that the experience feels surreal after years of dreaming about it
āMy coworkers all have a dream to win, and they buy tickets like I do,ā he said. āSo, itās truly amazing to win like this.ā
Tae Seong Lee purchased his winning Lotto Max ticket from Petro Canada located at 3003 Calgary Tr. in Edmonton. He won the jackpot by matching all the numbers in the Oct. 7 Lotto Max draw: 5, 6, 16, 26, 29, 37, and 44.
