A couple from British Columbia won a life-changing Lotto Max prize and are ready to travel the world.

Penticton residents Maureen and Darrell S. were relaxing at home when they saw that someone in their hometown won $75 million from the April 7, 2026, Lotto Max draw. After checking their ticket online, they found that they were the luck winners.

“I pulled the ticket out, and the numbers were lining up,” Darrell told the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). “We manually referenced the winning tickets online, but we needed to check at a terminal.”

To celebrate the massive Lotto Max win, the couple plans on having an intimate gathering with family and friends.

“We’re excited but experiencing every emotion imaginable,” said Darrell.

So, what do they plan on doing with the $75-million prize?

The pair describe themselves as “outdoorsy people,” so they are planning travel to various destinations, though nothing is confirmed yet.

“We might rent a camper or maybe take a nice cruise around the world!” shared Maureen. Darrell also mentioned Europe as a potential travel destination.

The couple also want to give back using the huge Lotto Max prize.

“We will be setting a small amount aside for ourselves, and the remaining is allocated to specific charity organizations that are important to us.”

Maureen and Darrell claimed their lottery prize at BCLC’s Vancouver office on June 30, 2026.

The winning Lotto Max ticket was purchased at Smart Shopper on Main Street and Westminster Avenue West in Penticton.
